The owners of this 1950s remodel needed the house to work harder for them and their two young children. Their program included expanding and remodeling the kitchen, adding a master bedroom and bath, home offices for their small businesses, and a photography studio. Additionally, the plan called for vaulting the ceiling in the living and dining areas of the existing house and bringing more daylight to the interior. Finally, a roof deck over the kitchen, adjacent to the new upstairs offices and a generous entertainment sized deck off the kitchen rounded out the list of changes.
